After its 59th edition in Hong Kong and the next World Statistics Congress in Rio de Janeiro in 2015, it will be Marrakech’s turn in 2017 for the 61st edition.
The event will be jointly organized by the High Commission for Planning (HCP) and the International Statistical Institute (ISI). For this purpose, a high-level delegation of the Institute, consisting of its elected president and its director will be in Rabat on the 5th and 6th of May.
According to a statement, the objective of this visit is the discussion of organizational aspects of the event that will be attended by 2,500 statisticians.
The World Statistics Congress provides an opportunity for representatives of national statistical systems, universities, research centers and international organizations to meet for a week to discuss the recent developments on the field of statistics.
It is important to note that the International Statistical Institute is a global network that has a mission of promoting excellence in education, research and application in the field of statistics.
