The United Nations Development Program has ranked Morocco at the 129th position out of 187 countries in its latest report on human development in the world.

The Kingdom’s rank comes below countries ravaged by war such as Iraq (118th) and Syria (120th), as well as countries of the region such as Egypt (110th), Algeria (93rd) and Tunisia (90th).

Morocco was able to move up by three positions only compared to 2012 (131st), with a life expectancy of 70.9 years, an average of 4.4 years of schooling and a Gross National Income per Capita of 6.905 dollars; The Kingdom was classified under the Medium Human Development category.

The aforementioned report includes other figures that justify the poor ranking of Morocco, such as 100 deaths per 100,000 births and only 11% of women in Parliament among others.
