Bayern Munich officially confirmed the luring of Mehdi Benatia after that the Bavarian club and AS Roma “reached the terms of a deal bringing Moroccan international Mehdi Benatia to Munich,” a statement published on Bayern Munich’s official website read.
Though the aforementioned statement said that the “player will move for an undisclosed fee,” it was earlier reported by the leading Italian sport outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport that both clubs agreed a Euro 30 Million deal, following reaching a compromise between the demands of the Romans who initially asked for 35 million euros and those of the Bavarian club that amounted to 25 million euros.
Bayern Munich’s official Facebook page shared a picture of the player joined by the following comment: “Welcome to the best Club!”
Benatia is set come to the “Bavarian capital in the next few days for the obligatory pre-transfer medical. Provided all is satisfactory, the 27-year-old centre-back will sign a five-year contract,” the Bayern Munich statement closed.
The Moroccan defense Ace was previously reported to be already looking for an apartment in Munich.
