Erdogan was sworn in as Turkey’s 12th president at a ceremony in the Turkish parliament yesterday.
Morocco’s head of government Abdellilah Benkirane handed Turkey’s new president a letter from King Mohammed VI, Benkirane was caught saying to the Moroccan Agency Press (La MAP).
“king Mohammed VI takes great interest in relations with Turkey in different areas,” Benkirane was caught saying.
Erdogan read yesterday the oath of office and said that “In my capacity as President of the Republic, I swear upon my honor and repute before the great Turkish nation and before history to safeguard the existence and independence of the state.”
It is worth reminding that Recep Tayyip Erdogan has won this month Turkey’s first direct presidential elections with a 52% majority from the first round.
