The World Health Organization confirmed more than 1,900 people have died in West Africa from the Ebola virus.

This has risen from 1,500 deaths last week. There have been 3,500 confirmed or probable cases of the disease in Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia since Monday, RT reported.

The death toll from this outbreak is now higher than in all the previous epidemics since the virus was first detected in 1976.
