According to Le360.ma, Morocco’s major newspapers witnessed between July 2013 to June 2014 a heavy drop in their sales.
Assabah witnessed a 17.4% decrease compared to the year before, while Al Massae witnessed a 13.01 plummeting.
Al Ittihad Al Ichtiraki witnessed a decline of sales of over than 10% and Morocco’s leading economy news outlet Leconomiste was not sparred by the phenomenon, witnessing a drop of 5%.
The drop is disappointing but not specific to Morocco.
As in everywhere in the world, the news trend is now quickly shifting towards online media.
