In a communiqué released by the Moroccan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Morocco strongly condemned the execution, on Saturday, Jan. 24th 2015, of the Japanese hostage Haruna Yukawa, claimed by the terrorist organization, the so-called Islamic State.

Morocco expressed as well in the same communiqué its “disapproval of this odious crime, which goes against universal human and moral values.”

The country also extended “its sincere condolences to the family of the victim, the government and people of Japan, reiterates its firm and constant position against terrorism and calls for the unconditional release of the second hostage and for the need to intensify the efforts of the international community to fight against the scourge of terrorism, in all its forms, which represents a universal threat and hampers development and stability in the world.”
