Dubai, UAE“We have come to an understanding that when we let go of things in life, we are able to liberate ourselves from agony, hatred and reach a phase of self-awareness.” I was only able to hear this phrase in specific places where they teach you to get in touch with your inner soul and differentiate your body from the energy that drives it.

I remember when my father used to watch the 8 O’clock news back in time, all that I could hear is news about conflicts, potential conflicts and fatalities. Twenty years later the news has remained the same.

A thought comes to my mind triggering several unsettled feelings after watching this video and drawing several questions: How can we put an end to another person’s life? How can we be as sadistic as some terrorist groups in the Middle East? Is it possible that the creations of God are capable of becoming this vicious and radical against each other?

As we age we learn that every one of us is a face of God no matter what their color, religion, sex, gender, and preferences are. Yet, some people choose to lead different roads and beliefs. But don’t we question the existence of creation and creator after seeing all these people ending each other’s lives over a piece of land that is ours as human beings? Isn’t Earth ours? Why should we divide it to small pieces? Or a belief? A skin color? A thought? A political stance?

A change is indeed needed, and it only starts within. We have heard this phrase several times but have we thought about it? It all starts with being aware of our thoughts and realize when we are judging someone, speculating about something, being unclear about a person (short, tall, fat, skinny, white, yellow, dark colored, black, Christian, Muslim, Atheist, Jew, Liberal, Conservative… ) This might be a bit of a cliché but truly: Love is the only way to live. I am no Gandhi, or Buddha… But look around you can you feel the heat of the hatred? You decide how to lead your life, raise your children, and lead the change from a tiny family to a bigger one in time.

I leave you with this small thought for the day.

Have a fruitful day!
