Rabat, Morocco (TMT)-With sales figures at approximately 4.100 million euros, leading logistics company Rhenus Group set up a new office in the city of Tangier, Morocco. The office of Rhenus Logistics in Tangier is the company’s first office on the African grounds, the first phase of the company’s development plan in Africa.
The move comes as a a result of the significant and constant increase in business transactions with Morocco, since 2008. A statement from Rhenus, The Moroccan Times received, said in the wake of the opening of this new office that the move comes, among others, “thanks to Tangier’s excellent location in Northern Morocco,” further nothing that the said city “has been a gateway in and out of the African continent.”
Commenting on the office opening, Lluis Folch, Rhenus’ country manager in Morocco, said that “in general, Morocco has become a regional leader and Tangier, in particular, has become a corporate hub where many multinational companies have been established for some time, are in the process of establishing or have plans to establish business. Therefore setting up our headquarters in Tangier was logical so we could respond to our customers’ demands”.
With the inauguration of its headquarters in Tangier, the company will be able to offer specialised logistic services in a wide range of sectors such as manufacturing, automotive, technology, textile and the pharmaceutical industries.
In terms of logistic services, Rhenus has facilities for handling and storing goods and preparing orders with an automated inventory control system and integral traceability to provide added value in every step of the logistics chain. Within its wide range of services, it also offers the design of transport logistics from origin to destination and the implementation and evaluation of projects in Morocco.
It is worth reminding that Rhenus has over than 24,000 employees in 390 locations around the world.
