Rabat, Morocco (TMT)-Morocco’s U-23 team wrapped up their group-stage campaign on a 2-1 win over Mexico (video underneath) to top group B with 8 points and book their ticket to play against France in the final game of the tournament, a game scheduled to take place on Sunday at 18:30 GMT(Moroccan Time).
Morocco started their campaign with a 3-3 draw against England, before thrashing China 3-0, followed by a scoreless game against Ivory Coast, to finally shoehorn a 2-1 win against Mexico.
While Morocco reached the final after two wins and two draws, France on the other hand topped group A with four wins in a row, starting their winning steak with a 3-1 against the U.S., before defeating Qatar 2-0, Costa Rica 2-1, and then trashing the Netherlands 4-0.
The final game will be broadcast live on Bein Sport.
