Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- Abdelali Hamiddine, a member of the General Secretary Office of Morocco’s Justice and Development Party (PJD), said in the wake of a gathering of the Youth Section of the PJD that “some elements have pressured him and leading members of his party to not head the PJD team in the House of Councillors of the Moroccan parliament.”

Hamiddine added that leading members of his party discussed the issue with him, asking him “to choose whether he wants to stay as head of the PJD team in the House of Councillors and stand to external pressure or whether he prefers to leave the position.”

“They did not pressure me or anything. The General Secretary Office of the PJD told me kindly that it is my decision, without any pressure or anything like that,” Hamiddine said.

“I decided to leave the position as I did not want to put my party under more pressure from those elements,” Hamiddine closed.
