Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- In an impressive twist in the tail, Algeria has softened its stance vis-à-vis the borders issue with Morocco, following years of linking the opening of borders to the effective ending of the Sahara issue.

As a matter of fact, the move comes only few days after the Secretary general of the Algerian opposition party The Rally for Culture and Democracy (well known by its French acronym RCD) called upon the Algerian authorities to reconsider their decision of closed borders with Morocco.

Pro-Government Algerian news outlet “Al Moujahid” said that “Morocco has to fulfill three conditions before the re-opening of the borders with Morocco.”

“The first is that the Moroccan authorities need to return back all property they confiscated to Algerians after they expelled them following Morocco deciding unilaterally to close the borders in 1994,” Al Moujahid said.

“The second is that the Moroccan authorities need to apologize for their claim that Algeria’s secret services has a hand in the terrorist acts of Marrakesh in 1994,” Al Moujahid added.

“The third condition is that Morocco needs to stop flooding Algeria with Marijuana and Cannabis,” Al Moujahid further noted.

It is worth reminding that Al Moujahid’s claims that Morocco confiscated property belonging to Algerians and expelled them is all but true.
