Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- The Moroccan authorities have dismantled around 150 terrorist cells since 2002, according to our figures, inferring from the 140 ones Morocco’s spokesman shed light on last November in a press briefing, added to around 10 terrorist cells dismantled in the last four months.

This brings up the number of arrested suspected terrorists to nearly 2,300, according to our figures.

Morocco’s anti-terrorism security apparatus has proven to be effective, with the kingdom being the only North African country with no established ISIS cells, perpetrated ISIS terrorist attacks, or terrorism kidnappings, on its grounds since the eruption of “the Arab spring.”

The Moroccan model in the fight against terrorism has been, as a matter of fact, at least partly adopted, by many European, Arab and sub-Saharan countries.

Morocco is training various imams from different nationalities, including France, Mali, Russia, Ivory Coast, Senegal, etc., in a bet to instill the values of Morocco’s open, moderate form of Islam.
