Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- The secretary general of the PJD party Abdellilah Benkirane told local media last Sunday that “forming a government coalition will be a smooth task,” following the PJD party winning Morocco’s legislative elections with 125 seats, 20 more ones compared to 2011.
“Compared to 2011, forming a government coalition will be smoother task this time,” Benkirane stressed.
The PJD is expected to form a coalition with 3 other parties.
The PJD will join hands with the leftist Party of Progress and Socialism (12 seats) as Nabil Benabdellah, the secretary general of the PPS confirmed following the unveiling of the elections results that they will remain with the PJD.
Al Istiqlal party (IP), with its 46 parliamentary seats, as well as the the Popular movement party (27 seats) are also expected to join Benkirane’s government coalition.
