Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- One parliamentary seat has been revoked to the Constitutional Union party (UC) in Mediouna (Casablanca), following the Party of Justice and Development (PJD) lodging an election fraud complaint in a local court.

Initially, Hachim Amine Chafik (UC) was declared winner of said seat, but Said Tazi and Hicham Msadi, the two main candidates of the PJD in Mediouna, noticed that 400 extra votes were added voluntarily to the count of the UC candidate, overtaking their lead.

This triggered the PJD candidates to accuse the head of the polling station of election fraud, lodging in the meantime a complaint in a local court.

The court revoked today Chafik’s seat, reinstating Hicham Msadi as the seat winner.

The PJD now has won in total 126 parliamentary seats.
