Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- The head of the WHO Tedros Adhanom was caught non-satisfied with the efforts deployed in various African countries to combat the coronavirus outbreak.

Tedros said that “Africa should wake up” and that the continent should “prepare for the worst”.

Tedros believes the actual number of reported cases does not reflect the real picture.

“Probably we have undetected cases or unreported cases,” Tedros said.

“In other countries, we have seen how the virus actually accelerates after a certain tipping point, so the best advice for Africa is to prepare for the worst and prepare today,” he added.

“WHO’s recommendation is actually that mass gatherings should be avoided,” Tedros stressed.
