coronavirus in Morocco: 23 deaths and 358 infected

Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- The Moroccan Ministry of Health said in its daily press conference that 70 new cases have tested positive to the coronavirus today.

This brings the total number of people who tested positive to 375 in the North African kingdom.

Since the start of the outbreak, this is the highest number of people test positive in a single day in Morocco.

The death toll jumped to 23 as 13 people passed away today, one of them was the Imam of the Happiness Mosque.

The Moroccan Ministry of Health said people who passed away were either persons suffering from a chronic disease or persons over the age of 60.

Morocco’s industrial hub Casablanca still holds the lion’s share in terms of people infected, followed by Meknes, Rabat, and Marrakesh.

11 persons have fully recovered now from the virus, with three persons recovering today.

The Moroccan health authorities further said that over 1432 people have tested negative since the start of the outbreak.
