COVID-19: Number of Moroccan inmates infected in local prison grows exponentially

Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- The COVID-19 tests the Moroccan authorities performed yesterday on all inmates of a local prison in Ouarzazate brought no surprise to the general public as 72 inmates have tested positive today.

infections include now 60 prison employees and 78 detainees.

Morocco’s General Directorate of Prison Administration and Reintegration (DGAPR) restricted testing initially to correctional officers, prison staff, including a few numbers of detainees who showed COVID-19 symptoms, before deciding to test all detainees yesterday.
