Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- Moroccan animal rescue groups and animal shelters are on the fringe, drawing a somber picture of the situation of dogs in Morocco. They are running the alarm bell vis-à-vis various difficulties they are facing, while also warning of the fate of stray dogs.

For example, receiving food donations has become almost impossible as all restaurants offer only takeaway possibilities, which means rest food that was previously donated to dog shelters and rescue groups has become a scarce commodity.

Also, as the intercity movement is suspended, it has become really difficult for dog shelters located far away from big supermarkets to acquire canine food such as kibbles and other options.

Also, the rate of dog adoption in Morocco has plunged. This has pushed dog shelters to exhaustion as dogs are piling up.

Given the dire situation, various dog shelters across the kingdom are calling upon Moroccans to either donate and, if they have the possibility, feed stray dogs in their neighborhoods.
