10 people arrested in Marrakesh for playing a soccer game

Marrakesh, Morocco (TMT)- The Moroccan police arrested 10 people in the “Al Massira” neighborhood in Marrakesh after transgressing the nationwide curfew measures, playing a 5 vs 5 soccer game.

The 10 persons flew the scene following a patrolling police unit surprising them, catching them red-handed breaching the state of emergency guidelines.

The identity of the 10 persons was nevertheless unveiled as the authorities successfully caught some of them.

A video recording was also used to verify their identities.

All of them were placed in custody, pending the end of an investigation undertaken by the public prosecutor’s office.

They will be subject to a monetary fine (from 300 Dhs to 1300 Dhs), and/or a jail sentence ranging from 1 month up to 3 months.
