Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- Various persons who hold the dual Spanish-Moroccan citizenship and Moroccans who hold a Spanish residency permit took to the streets of Tangier to protest against the Moroccan government’s decision to keep its borders shud down.

The protest took place in the street adjacent to the Spanish embassy in Tangier.

While protesting, all of them respected the 1.5 meters minimum distance requirement aimed to halt the spread of the novel coronavirus.

Most of them are not fathoming the rationale behind the authorities keeping their borders shut, which hinders them from flying back to Spain to resume their work and join their families.

Those who hold Spanish citizenship further criticized the Spanish government for doing little to help them, not like other European countries that organized various repatriation flights from Morocco to their homelands.

They are also criticizing both governments’ lack of communication and nonchalance vis-à-vis their dire situation.
