Morocco sees a 400% increase in Tourism revenues in 2 months

Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- Tourism revenues in Morocco reached a remarkable number this year, hitting the 16 billion dirhams ceils for the months of January and February 2023, a 51% rise compared to the same period in 2019, and more than 400% compared to January and February of last year.

This was shared during a panel session at the House of Councillors, by Morocco’s t Prime Minister, Aziz Akhennouch.

Akhennouch stated that the tourism sector has been showing upward momentum at the beginning of this year, further noting that extensive promotional campaigns have been launched to market Morocco’s tourism domestically and internationally, in a bet to further advertise Morocco as a destination.

As part of the aforementioned campaigns, the “Netlaqaw fi Bladna” promotion campaign has been launched to encourage Moroccans living abroad to visit the country more often as travelers and tourists, rather than just to come over to visit their families.

Also, the “Visit Morocco” and “Morocco, Kingdom of Lights” have been launched in 20 countries simultaneously to attract international tourists.
