MADRID-Mohcine Jazouli, the Moroccan Minister Delegate for Investment and Evaluation of Public Policies, said that “trade between Morocco and Spain has increased Fivefold in the past two decades,” calling for more bolstering of commercial ties with Spain to elevate the bilateral investment volume.

Jazouli highlighted that Spain has evolved into Morocco’s first trading partner, while Morocco has established itself as Spain’s second-largest non-European and first African trading partner.

In 2022, the trade volume between the two countries surged past 18 billion euros ($19.8 billion), with over 800 Spanish companies operating in Morocco. With an investment sum of 200 million euros ($220 million) in the same year, Spain is positioned as the fifth largest foreign investor in Morocco.

The forum, which witnessed participation from 150 Moroccan and Spanish companies, was a joint initiative of the Moroccan-Spanish Economic Council, the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises, the Spanish Confederation of Business Organizations, and the Spanish Chamber of Commerce.
