Younes Sekkouri, Morocco’s Minister of Economic Integration, Small Business, Labor, and Competencies, said amid the launching ceremony of The Awrach 2 program in Oujda Fon Friday that this latter “is expected to create a significant dynamic in the Oriental region of Morocco, potentially generating over 15,000 direct jobs.”

The aim is to allow people struggling to enter the job market to develop professional experience for a minimum of 12 months, instead of 24 in the first version of the program, with each individual receiving a sum of 1,500 DH/month monthly.

Sekkouri said that one of the program’s goals is to see at least 30% of women joining the program.

The program is designed to target small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and focuses on people with disabilities, women, and individuals who have not completed a formal undergraduate degree program or who do not hold a university degree.
