Lear Corporation Expands in Morocco: 150 Jobs Created, Manufacturing Capacity Grows

Lear Corporation, a leading American multinational in automotive seating and electronics technology, announced the inauguration of a new factory in Tangier on Tuesday.

The company specified that the facility, set to become operational in the third quarter of 2023, will specialize in manufacturing parts utilizing plastic injection technology. This development aims to cater to Lear’s automotive manufacturers, suppliers, as well as its seating and electronics business units.

Covering an expansive area of 5300 square meters, the new factory is anticipated to generate around 150 new jobs. This will further extend Lear’s manufacturing presence in Morocco.

Enrique Orta, Global Vice President of Lear for Electric Distribution Systems and Interconnect Systems, expressed his pride in the company’s investment in the Moroccan automotive sector. Having operated in the country since 2003, Lear’s advanced factory will foster job creation and enhance its design and production capabilities in the region. Orta emphasized the company’s commitment to delivering products on schedule while upholding the highest standards of quality, value, and innovation for its customers.

Headquartered in Michigan and spanning operations across 37 countries, Lear Corporation currently maintains 17 facilities in Morocco, employing a workforce of 19,000.
