Moroccan police officers have arrested a 67-year-old French citizen at Fes-Saiss Airport, on suspicion of possessing and disseminating illicit digital content involving minors. The arrest took place just as the individual was preparing to board a flight to France.

The arrest was facilitated by the national security data profiling system, which indicated that the suspect was the subject of a search warrant issued by the Judicial Police in Meknes.

Preliminary investigation data strongly suggests the suspect’s involvement in downloading, using, and sharing explicit digital content associated with the sexual exploitation of minors in foreign countries. These criminal activities were uncovered as part of international security cooperation channels.

At this stage, it remains uncertain whether the suspect’s visit to Morocco was specifically intended for the creation of illicit child pornography. The nature of his activities in the country will be further clarified as the investigation unfolds.

The French suspect has since been placed under provisional custody. Further investigations are being conducted by the Regional Judicial Police in Meknes, under the supervision of the relevant public prosecutor’s office, to conclusively establish the full extent of the criminal acts attributed to him.
