Pratt & Whitney, the renowned American aircraft engine manufacturer, is reportedly setting up a large-scale factory in the Nouaceur area, on the outskirts of Casablanca, Morocco. The factory is part of the company’s expansion plans to strengthen its global presence in both commercial and military aviation sectors.

The Connecticut-based company, a subsidiary of United Technologies Corporation (UTC), has chosen Morocco due to its strategic location and burgeoning aerospace industry. The new factory, as confirmed by local media sources, will focus on manufacturing and maintaining aircraft engines used in both commercial civilian aircraft and military jets.

Pratt & Whitney is among the top three aircraft engine manufacturers globally, and its products are widely used by airlines worldwide. It also holds a significant presence in the military aviation sector. The company’s main office is situated in East Hartford, Connecticut, United States.

This decision to expand their operations in Morocco marks another milestone in the company’s global development strategy. In addition to manufacturing aircraft engines, Pratt & Whitney’s business activities extend to producing gas turbines for industrial and power generation applications, marine turbine engines, and rocket engines.
