The Ministry of Equipment, Transport, and Logistics has launched the initial stages of the high-speed “TGV” train project that will link Marrakech and Essaouira.

According to our sources, the process has started to transfer a piece of land in the Saada community, just outside Marrakech, to public ownership. This land, which is not currently public property, is in the path of the planned train route. After the transfer, it will be used to build a three-kilometer stretch of railway. This is part of the preparations for the new high-speed train line that will first connect Marrakech and Essaouira, and later extend to Agadir.

The project will be executed in stages, with the initial focus on establishing the line between Marrakesh and Essaouira. Subsequently, the line will be extended to reach Agadir from Essaouira.

The high-speed train line is designed to span 320 kilometers, carving a path through the coastal city of Essaouira on the Atlantic Ocean. The project will be executed in stages, with the initial focus on establishing the line between Marrakesh and Essaouira. Subsequently, the line will be extended to reach Agadir from Essaouira.

The Tangier to Kenitra train line has been a tremendous success, earning widespread acceptance and positive reception among Moroccans.
