As detailed in a press release from the Ministry of National Education, a massive school remediation program aimed to close learning gaps is set to take place in the 2023-2024 academic year, impacting an estimated 322,000 students.

The four-week initiative focuses on core subjects including Arabic, Mathematics, and French. Participating students will gain over 100 hours of educational support, emphasizing foundational competencies like reading, writing, and mathematics. The program will see the participation of approximately 11,000 volunteer teachers, who will be undergoing training from June 5 to 22.

11,000 educators nationwide will be during the training introduced to novel teaching techniques that have proven successful in real classroom environments, encompassing nearly 50 hours of training to familiarize themselves with the “Teaching at the Right Level” (TaRL) approach.
