In a security intervention on Sunday, June 18, police officers in Béni Mellal were compelled to threaten a criminal with their guns to deter him from raping a minor. The man had also threatened the officers with his weapon.
The incident began when the man’s mother called the police’s emergency number, 19, accusing her son of putting her at risk. She alleged that her son, brandishing a knife, is trying to force a minor girl into their home with the intention of sexually abusing her.
A police patrol arrived promptly at the scene. The suspect aggressively resisted arrest using his weapon, causing the officers to threaten him with the use of their guns. This action allowed the police to protect the young girl and gain control over the suspect.
