Khalid Ait Taleb, the Minister of Health, said it is impossible to stop the phenomenon of healthcare professionals’ brain drain away from Morocco.
He announced plans to alter the wage structure within the health sector, with the aim of curbing the mass departure of healthcare professionals from Morocco.
During the oral question session in the House of Representatives today, Ait Taleb pointed out the following:
“We must acknowledge the impossibility of completely halting the emigration of healthcare professionals. The most viable solution is to expand the training of doctors and other health workers,” he elaborated.
“We are confronting a global phenomenon – the globalization of human resources. The world is in flux, and the dearth of healthcare professionals is a universal issue,” he lamented.
