Police Officer in Kenitra Arrested for Drug Trafficking Amidst Ongoing Investigations

Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- Alyaoum24 reported on April 15, 2024, that a police officer in Kenitra, Morocco, was arrested for allegedly possessing and distributing drugs. The Judicial Police, under the supervision of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, initiated an investigation to clarify the circumstances surrounding a security guard’s involvement in drug trafficking while on annual leave from his duties in SalĂ©.

During a coordinated operation, he was caught red-handed with 151 grams of cocaine, anesthesia canisters, and a sum of money in both local and European currencies, suspected to be proceeds from this criminal activity. This arrest follows the February apprehension of three individuals at a Kenitra train station with 203 grams of cocaine.

The officer is currently held under provisional custody pending further investigation, and he has been temporarily suspended from duty pending the outcome of the judicial inquiry.
