Moroccan Ministries Sign Partnership to Protect National Heritage

Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- On Monday in Rabat, Mohammed Mehdi Bensaid, the Minister of Culture, Riad Mezour, the Minister of Industry and Trade, and Abdelaziz Babqiqi, the Director General of the Moroccan Office of Industrial and Commercial Property, signed a partnership agreement aimed at the intellectual protection of Moroccan heritage.

The first agreement focuses on raising awareness about the importance of industrial and intellectual protection for Moroccan heritage, enhancing its prominence by integrating artisans and traditional craftsmen into the protection framework.

It also involves providing expertise from the cultural sector to the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Moroccan Office for further protection of Moroccan heritage.

The second agreement aims to fund operations by Morocco to register cultural heritage with global institutions, organizing a plan for registering Moroccan heritage elements worldwide.
