The Moroccan indoor football team, two-time titleholder, is seeking its third consecutive continental championship as it faces Angola’s national team on Sunday. The final of the seventh edition of the Africa Nations Futsal Cup, hosted by Rabat, will take place at Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex.

The young Moroccans, coached by Hicham Dguig, have ensured their qualification for the upcoming World Cup in Uzbekistan, after winning over the Libyan team (6-0). However, following Angola’s remarkable semi-final victory over Egypt, Morocco will approach the final match with revised ambitions.

With their place in the upcoming Futsal World Cup also secure, Angola will participate in the final without significant pressure. They also aim to be the first team from Sub-Saharan Africa to claim the title in this championship, which has only been won by Egypt (three times) , Morocco (twice), and Libya (once).

Morocco, coming off of strong performances against their opponents, aims to make history by becoming the first team to win the championship thrice consecutively. Coach Hicham Dguig stressed that the final game against Angola will be fundamentally different from their earlier encounters in the tournament.

He highlighted that players do not need any additional motivation as they understand the stakes of this match. According to Dguig, the most critical aspect for this type of game is to focus on the tactical and technical details that could make the difference.

Angola’s coach, Marcos Antonio, expressed his players’ enthusiasm to face Morocco. He emphasized that they will try to challenge Morocco in the final, which will undoubtedly be different from the opening match.

Libya’s national team will face Egypt’s team on Sunday to compete for the third place in the championship and the remaining World Cup slot.
