The head of the Algerian Football Federation stated in a media interview that the Confederation of African Football (CAF) purchased high-quality sportswear for the Berkane team. He further explained that the new outfits would be found by Renaissance Berkane at the match venue.

Walid Saadi added that the Union Sportive Medina d’Alger (USM Algiers) would head to the stadium to play the match, confirming that they had contacted all involved parties, including FIFA, regarding the matter. He clarified that Berkane would find ideal conditions to play.

The same source added that they were awaiting a response to their appeal at the CAF level. They had been informed that the response would be given before the match’s kickoff. The CAF mentioned that Renaissance Berkane has been playing in their shirts since the beginning of the tournament and that Algeria’s response was strict; they refuse to let Renaissance Berkane play in this shirt.

A source close to the Renaissance Berkane, present with the delegation in Algeria, claimed that the team has not yet received their gear and shirts, which they are supposed to use for the match against USM Algiers. This game is a part of the first round of the semi-finals of the African Confederation Cup.

The same source mentioned that the team will head towards Omar Hamadi Stadium in Bab El Oued, Algeria, at the scheduled time to play the match if they receive their shirts and gear. If they don’t receive them, then Renaissance Berkane will not play the match as they do not have any spare shirts. They have decided not to negotiate about playing with shirts bearing the map of the Kingdom of Morocco since they have used them in all previous matches.
