The Moroccan Ministry of National Education, Preschool, and Sports recently announced plans to gradually implement the teaching of the Amazigh language in primary educational institutions, targeting 50% coverage by 2025/2026.

The Ministry will employ 600 professors specialized in teaching the Amazigh language and train at least an additional 2000 dual-discipline professors.

This pedagogic shift acknowledges the increasing importance of the Amazigh language in Morocco and outlines a comprehensive plan to include it as a core part of Morocco’s national curriculum.
