Underwater Railway Tunnel Project Progressing at a Rapid Pace Between Morocco and Spain

Reports from Spain have confirmed the technical studies for the intercontinental connection project between Morocco and Spain continue to make remarkable progress, particularly since both countries, in partnership with Portugal, have secured the honor of hosting the finals of the 2030 World Cup.

As of now, data indicates that the planned undersea tunnel will be exclusive for railway connections, only accommodating trains, and not include a road for cars, buses, and trucks.

However, the same sources state that experts are working to design train vehicles that can carry cars, similar to the system currently implemented on vessels that cross between the coasts.

As preliminary studies document, this proposed tunnel is expected to be 28 kilometers long, connecting Punta Paloma in Tarifa and Malabata in the Tanja Beach area, located 300 meters below sea level.
