Rachid Hamouni, the leader of the Progress and Socialism team in the House of Representatives, has called for transparency on government actions aimed at curbing the growing phenomenon of visa brokerage for Schengen appointments.

Addressing the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans Residing Abroad in a written question, the parliamentarian detailed that the offers from brokers for Schengen visa appointments, especially those related to France and Spain, are noticeably increasing. This situation adds to the suffering of Moroccan citizens who wish to obtain visas for travel to Europe. Hamouni highlighted the need for the stakeholders to take responsibility for addressing the technical and electronic loopholes exploited by visa brokers to monopolize appointments and monopolize them for trading.

He further added that these brokers propose their illegal offers at extraordinary prices while sometimes resorting to fraud as well. The victims have been forced to lodge complaints and get in touch with consumer protection associations.
