Foreign Investment in Morocco Increases by 17.5%

Data from the Exchange Office, responsible for recording commercial and economic exchanges with foreign countries, reveals that foreign direct investments in Morocco increased by 17.5% in February 2024, compared to the same period of the previous year.

The report mentions that foreign direct investments reached 6.5 billion Dirhams (50 million) in February 2024, an increase from 5.5 billion Dirhams (50 million) over the same period in 2023.

The Office also said that the remittances from Moroccan expatriates increased by 1.5% in February 2024, compared to the same month in 2023. These remittances reached about 17.7 billion dirhams (77 million), which is an increase from 17.4 billion Dirhams (74 million) a year ago.

Moreover, the results of the national accounts for the fourth quarter of 2023 showed that the economic growth in Morocco significantly improved to 4.1% compared with 0.7% during the same period in 2022. Non-agricultural activities recorded a growth of 4.1%, and agricultural activity grew by 5.8%.
