Police Officers Arrest Illegal Spearfishing Group in Morocco Catching Endangered Marine Species

Police officers in the regional security of Al-Nador city, in coordination with the General Directorate for National Territory Surveillance, managed to arrest seven individuals suspected of being involved in illegal spearfishing and trafficking of endangered marine species.

The operation took place in Al-Nador city, as well as in the areas of Aroui, Selouane, Arkman Village, and Beni Ansar.

Two tons and 468 kilograms of sea cucumbers were seized, some of which were concealed as a shipment on a cargo truck.

Boats, cars, clothes, maritime navigation equipment, tools, and raw materials used in fishing, spearfishing, drying, and preparing these marine creatures for sale were also seized.

The suspects are under judicial investigation, and the search is ongoing to uncover all potential individuals involved in this criminal activity.
