An Algerian military convoy  was the target of a terrorist attack which killed 14 soldiers in Iboudraren, east of Algiers.

According to the Algerian Press Agency (APS), the military convoy was ambushed Saturday night on its way back from a monitoring operation during the Algerian presidential elections, held last Thursday.   It is not yet clear who perpetrated the attack.

On Thursday, President Abdelaziz Bouteflika won a fourth mandate with 81.53% of the casted votes in spite of severe health problems. Many Algerians have doubts regarding Bouteflika’s physical and mental ability to rule the country.
