Ivorian striker Didier Drogba has re-signed for Chelsea on a free transfer for a one year period. He turned down two-year deals from 3 major MLS clubs in the USA to re-join the Blues, re-joining thereby Jose Mourinho.
Drogba announced shortly after signing his new contract that it was an easy decision for him and that he could not turn down the opportunity to work with Mourinho again. He added: Everyone knows the special relationship I have with this club and it has always felt like home to me. My desire to win is still the same and I look forward to the opportunity to help this team. I am excited for this next chapter of my career.”
Drogba spent 8 years at Chelsea where he managed to score 157 goals and win three Premier League titles, one Champions league in 2012, four FA cups and two league cups. He then played for Turkish club Galatasaray after a short spell at Chinese Super League team Shanghai Shenhua.
