A resolution authorizing a lawsuit against American President Barack Obama was approved by the House Republicans for his abusive use of power at the expense of Congress and the Constitution.

Republicans accused Obama to overstep the bounds of his office, arguing that many of Obama’s executive orders were illegitimate because they fall within the powers and responsibilities of the Congress.

Decisions taken by Obama on his own like raising the minimum wage for federal contractors, extending benefits to same-sex partners and decisions about the Obamacare health system have provoked anger of Republicans.

In a vote carried out, all the democrats and five of the republicans opposed the measure. House Speaker John Boehner said: “This isn’t about Republicans and Democrats, it’s about defending the Constitution that we swore an oath to uphold.”

Obama reacted to the news making fun of his adversaries and urging them to “stop just hating all the time.”
