In an interview given to leading MENA outlet Al-Hora (video below the article), Morocco’s head of the government Abdellilah Benkirane called on the Palestinian factions to unify as “they don’t have any chance to have a bright future if they don’t unify their efforts.”
Benkirane said the following:
“ I always tried to help the Palestinian factions to reach unity, as I was asked by them to broker their unity. I never refused to help and I always tried to help.”
Benkirane added: “I am telling them literally that they won’t have any bright future if they don’t unify their efforts. To unify means that they should waive some of their demands to one another, though there are some difficulties and risks in doing so.”
“Yet, I am telling them that it is the way to go. There is no way but unity to get, at least, heard. Otherwise, if their efforts are scattered and dispersed…. (Benkirane did not finish this statement and jumped to another one.)
“I believe that the last onslaught on gaza came as a result of the unity efforts they [ the Palestinian fractions] were achieving.”
“They should keep their unity effort under the official leadership of Mahmoud Abbas. I believe they should carry on their efforts until the end,“ Benkirane Closed.
