Darmstadt, Germany (TMT)- According to a statement from the Royal Cabinet, relayed by Morocco’s official Press Agency La MAP, the Moroccan monarch King Mohammed VI spoke to German Chancellor Angela Merkel yesterday.

This discussion focused mainly on the issue of illegal Moroccan migrants in Germany, whom many reached said country with fake Syrian passports in guise of “Syrian migrants fleeing the ongoing war in Syria.”

Mohammed VI answered favorably the request of Merkel as the two leaders agreed “to quickly study the cases” of those illegal migrants, including repatriating them as quickly as possible.

King Mohammed VI and Angela Merkel also discussed the prospective visit to Morocco of German Interior Minister, Thomas de Maizière, in a bet to “work closely on this issue with his Moroccan counterpart,” Mohammed Hassad.

The interview was also an opportunity to shed light on the positive development of bilateral relations between Morocco and Germany.

Both leaders invited each other for a would-be official visit to their respective countries.
