Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- Two prisoners jailed for terrorism-related charges failed to escape from Sale’s “Prison Number 2” jail compound, failing to successfully climb a 7-meters barbed wire fence.

The authorities said that the two prisoners took advantage of their after-lunch break and cut their blankets in the form of a rope, in a bet to climb hastily the barbed wire fence.

Their plans fell short however as the prison police hurried up to arrest them, in the right moment.

The authorities said it suspects various prisoners, jailed as well for terrorism-related charges, to be involved in the failed prison break, at least in providing logistical or psychological support to those who tried to escape.
