In an address to U.S congress members and, broadly speaking, to the united states population, congresswoman Ros-Lehtinen said that “Morocco is an Example of Stability and Political Reform in a Volatile Region”.
The congresswoman added that “Morocco is designated as a major non-NATO ally and is working towards a political transition and instituting democratic reforms”.
She added: “of course the political situation in Morocco is still not perfect, but it is important for us to recognize the positive step forward”.
The congress woman also reiterated the U.S position in regards to the Sahara issue, saying that she and the U.S support Morocco’s autonomy plan in the region.
