Mr. José Graziano, the director-general of the Food and Agriculture organization (FAO) of the United Nations, said Morocco was awarded for reaching the FAO’s first goal before the deadline.
Prince Moulay Rachid received the FAO award in a recent event that took place in Meknes, Morocco.
On a sideline note, it is worth recalling that “The eight Millennium Development Goals” were set by UN back in 2000.
The first goal among the eight set is the eradication of extreme poverty and hunger before 2015.
According to the FAO’s Director General, Morocco reached the FAO’s goal 2 years before the set deadline.
