The Moroccan Government Set to End the Sale of Individual Cigarettes.

According to the Arabic based newspaper Akhbar Alyaoum, the Moroccan government seems determined to end, once for all, the sale of individual cigarettes, or what is commonly known in Morocco as detail.

As a matter of fact, the Minister of Industry, Trade, Investment and Digital Economy, Mr. Moulay Hafid Elalamy, is working on a new bill intended to halt this widespread practice, the source said.

The aforementioned source added that when the bill will see light, people who will engage in the sale of cigarettes won’t be allowed to split packets nor to sell individual cigarettes in the streets.

More than that, only certified entities will be able to engage in the sale of cigarettes.

Very similar bills are adopted in western countries like Germany and the U.K.
