The Moroccan daily Al Massae said in its weekend edition that the Moroccan authorities, in cooperation with the authorities of the Mohammed V airport of Casablanca, have successfully arrested 62 people following various diplomats, and especially a head of state, filling complaints of stolen luggage in the said airport.

Al Massae went on further to say that the said head of state’s complaint was “the main trigger that lead to the clean-up”.

Al Massae did not call by name the head of state nor did it do so for the other diplomats who had their luggage stolen as well. Yet, it is highly probable that the concerned head of state is from Sub-Sahara Africa, given that various Sub-Saharan African leaders visited Morocco recently.

Al Massae further noted that it “wouldn’t be surprised if the real persons behind the scandal were highly placed individuals at the said airport, rather than the 62 scapegoats,” given the fact that many security cameras were installed following various complaints received by random travelers recently.
